By proving some Pohozaev-type identities for (0.1) and dividing Br(0) naturally into six regions Ωi(i=1,2,3,4,5,6), we can show that the equation (0.2)yuxx+xuyy=sign(x+y)|u|2u with Dirichlet boundary conditions on each natural domain Ωi has no nontrivial regular solution in Br(0)

    A Large Portal Vein: A Rare Finding of Recent Portal Vein Thrombosis

    Acute portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is rarely encountered by clinicians. The most common manifestation of acute PVT is sudden onset of abdominal pain. A computed tomography scan without contrast often shows a high-density material in the portal vein. After injection of contrast agents, absence of luminal enhancement and enlargement of the obstructed portal vein are shown. In this case report, we demonstrated a rare computed tomography finding in which the diameter of the main portal vein was enormously distended to 3-fold that of the aorta in a patient with recent PVT. Despite thrombolysis and anticoagulation were immediately given, portal venous recanalization was not achieved in the patient. After 5 years, variceal bleeding and ascites occurred and liver function had persistently deteriorated. Finally, he died of progressive liver failure. Considering this case, we suggest that an early decision for invasive interventional treatment might be necessary to both increase the rate of portal venous recanalization and improve prognosis, as anticoagulation and thrombolysis therapy failed to recanalize recent PVT

    Use of whole-exome sequencing to identify novel monogenic gene mutations and genotype–phenotype correlations in Chinese Han children with urolithiasis

    The incidence of urolithiasis (UL) in children has been increasing. Although the pathogenesis of pediatric UL is controversial and remains unclear, multiple monogenic causes of UL have been identified. We aim to investigate the prevalence of inherited UL causes and explore the genotype–phenotype correlation in a Chinese pediatric group. In this study, we analyzed the DNA of 82 pediatric UL patients using exome sequencing (ES). The data of metabolic evaluation and genomic sequencing were subsequently analyzed together. We detected 54 genetic mutations in 12 of 30 UL-related genes. A total of 15 detected variants were described as pathogenic mutations, and 12 mutations were considered likely pathogenic. Molecular diagnoses were made in 21 patients with pathogenic or likely pathogenic variants. Six novel mutations that were not previously reported were identified in this cohort. Calcium oxalate stones were detected in 88.9% cases (8/9) with hyperoxaluria-related mutations, while 80% of individuals (4/5) with cystinuria-causing defects were diagnosed with cystine stones. Our study highlights the significant genetic abnormalities in pediatric UL and demonstrates the diagnostic power of ES for screening patients with UL

    Signature splitting inversion and backbending in 80Rb

    High spin states of 80Rb are studied via the fusion-evaporation reactions 65Cu+19F, 66Zn+18O and 68Zn+16O with the beam energies of 75 MeV, 76 MeV and 80 MeV, respectively. Twenty-three new states with twenty-eight new \gamma transitions were added to the previously proposed level scheme, where the second negative-parity band is significantly pushed up to spins of 22^{-} and 15^{-} and two new sidebands are built on the known first negative-parity band. Two successive band crossings with frequencies 0.51 MeV and 0.61 MeV in the \alpha=0 branch as well as another one in the \alpha=1 branch of the second negative-parity band are observed for the first time. Signature inversions occur in the positive- and first negative-parity bands at the spins of 11\hbar and 15\hbar, respectively. The signature splitting is seen obviously in the second negative-parity band, but the signature inversion is not observed. It is also found that the structure of the two negative-parity bands is similar to that of its isotone ^{82}Y. Signature inversion in the positive-parity yrast band with configuration \pi g_{9/2} \otimes \nu g_{9/2} in this nucleus is discussed using the projected shell model (PSM)

    Demonstration of laser-produced neutron diagnostic by radiative capture gamma-rays

    We report a new scenario of time-of-flight (TOF) technique in which fast neutrons and delayed gamma-ray signals were both recorded in a millisecond time window in harsh environments induced by high-intensity lasers. The delayed gamma signals, arriving far later than the original fast neutron and often being ignored previously, were identified to be the results of radiative captures of thermalized neutrons. The linear correlation between gamma photon number and the fast neutron yield shows that these delayed gamma events can be employed for neutron diagnosis. This method can reduce the detecting efficiency dropping problem caused by prompt high-flux gamma radiation, and provides a new way for neutron diagnosing in high-intensity laser-target interaction experiments

    Identification and characterization of ABA receptors in Oryza sativa.

    Abscisic acid (ABA) is an essential phytohormone that regulates plant stress responses. ABA receptors in Arabidopsis thaliana (AtPYLs) have been extensively investigated by structural, biochemical, and in vivo studies. In contrast, relatively little is known about the ABA signal transduction cascade in rice. Besides, the diversities of AtPYLs manifest that the information accumulated in Arabidopsis cannot be simply adapted to rice. Thus, studies on rice ABA receptors are compulsory. By taking a bioinformatic approach, we identified twelve ABA receptor orthologs in Oryza sativa (japonica cultivar-group) (OsPYLs), named OsPYL1-12. We have successfully expressed and purified OsPYL1-3, 6 and 10-12 to homogeneity, tested the inhibitory effects on PP2C in Oryza sativa (OsPP2C), and measured their oligomerization states. OsPYL1-3 mainly exhibit as dimers and require ABA to inhibit PP2C's activity. On the contrary, OsPYL6 retains in the monomer-dimer equilibrium state and OsPYL10-11 largely exist as monomers, and they all display an ABA-independent phosphatase inhibition manner. Interestingly, although OsPYL12 seems to be a dimer, it abrogates the phosphatase activity of PP2Cs in the absence of ABA. Toward a further understanding of OsPYLs on the ABA binding and PP2C inhibition, we determined the crystal structure of ABA-OsPYL2-OsPP2C06 complex. The bioinformatic, biochemical and structural analysis of ABA receptors in rice provide important foundations for designing rational ABA-analogues and breeding the stress-resistant rice for commercial agriculture
